The Wound Institute today announced it has been named a 2012 Gold Award Winner in the 14th annual Web Health Awards[SM] for its online Medical Education platform developed for healthcare professionals. Additionally, The Wound Institute Patient Portal, which provides educational resources designed for patients and caregivers, received a Merit Award.

Healthpoint Biotherapeutics today announced that the results for its Phase 2b clinical trial investigating the efficacy of HP802-247 in venous leg ulcers is published on The Lancet, beginning August 3, 2012, with Online First access to the article, followed by print publication in the next issue. HP802-247 is an investigational allogeneic living cell bioformulation containing keratinocytes and fibroblasts currently under development for the treatment of venous leg ulcers.

Healthpoint Biotherapeutics today announced the company is planning a significant upgrade to its 80,000 square foot research and manufacturing facility in Ft. Worth. The new, state-of-the-art facilities will comprise 25,000 square feet of manufacturing infrastructure, labs and clean room space for the production of cell-based therapies.
